About DealzScan
DealzScan exists to answer one question for shoppers: is this actually a good deal, and where should I buy it?
Retailers post thousands of "sale" prices every day. Most of them aren't unusual — a discount off an inflated "original" price, a price the item was already at last month, or a deal that's already gone by the time you click. Figuring out which discounts are genuinely worth your attention, without spending twenty minutes comparing prices yourself, is the actual problem DealzScan is built to solve.
Where we operate
DealzScan serves shoppers in Canada and the United States. Use the country selector to view deals for your market. Retailer availability, pricing, currency, promotions, and affiliate programs may differ between Canada and the U.S.
What DealzScan does
- Deal discovery. We continuously pull listings from multiple retailers (currently Amazon, with Best Buy, Walmart, and a set of independent Shopify stores) so you see deals in one place instead of checking each store separately.
- Deal scoring. Every deal gets a Deal Score computed from discount percentage, dollar savings, the retailer's track record, and popularity signals like rating and review count — so you can sort by "actually good" instead of just "on sale." See the full Deal Score methodology for exactly what does and doesn't factor in.
- Price context and freshness. We track how a deal's price moves over time, not just today's snapshot, so you can see whether a "sale" price is genuinely lower than what the item has recently sold for — and whether the deal is still live or has expired.
- Comparison and filtering. Deals can be filtered by category, store, price, and minimum score, so you're looking at the subset that's actually relevant to you, not scrolling through everything.
- Curation. Not every discount that comes through our pipeline makes it onto the site — low-quality or misleading "deals" are filtered out before you ever see them.
- Cross-retailer comparison (in progress). Where the same or a comparable product is available from more than one retailer, we're working toward showing that side-by-side, so "where should I buy it" has a real answer, not just "buy it here."
How we stay honest
DealzScan may earn a commission when you buy through some of the links on this site — see our affiliate disclosure for the details. That relationship never changes what you see: a merchant paying a higher commission does not result in a higher Deal Score, better placement, or preferential treatment. Deal Score is calculated the same way regardless of which retailer or program a deal comes from.
Put simply: the deal discovery, scoring, and comparison DealzScan provides is meant to stay useful on its own — even if every affiliate link on the site were removed tomorrow. The affiliate relationships fund the work; they don't define it.
